This Cashier position is responsible for billing collecting payments, cashiering, and general reception duties, at the Moore Haven location of the Glades County Health Department (CHD).
This position is responsible for maintaining the confidential information and documents and ensuring that departmental functions are accomplished in accordance with State and local policies and procedures.
Position reports directly to the Operations & Management Consultant I - SES and is headquartered at the CHD in Moore Haven.
Providing cashier back up duties will include working at the Hendry CHD Clewiston & LaBelle location as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbent must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver License or the ability to obtain one prior to hire.
May be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
Must have a minimum of 2 years of cashier or customer service experience.
Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters; performing other emergency duties including but not limited to responses to threats man-made or natural.
MAJOR DUTIESAND RESPONSIBLITIES:
Works independently at the front desk answering phones; screens and directs incoming calls and messages to the appropriate party according to office policy.
Greets clients and visitors promptly, in a pleasant and professional manner; determines their needs and responds accordingly.
Acts as an interpreter when requested.
Cashiers services for clients which includes charging from super bill; collects fees balancing through the Health Management System (HMS) billing function which identifies cash collections for billings to Medicaid, Medicare, Private Insurance, or other third-party Insurance.
Attends and participates in Quality Improvement Activities, In-Service programs and staff meetings.
Performs other related duties as assigned, including assisting with incoming and outgoing mail, and the courier bag.
Serves as a backup to process outgoing and incoming US mail and packages, processes deliveries to the correct department.
Reports all problems immediately using the chain of command.
Cashier back up duties will include working at the Hendry CHD locations LaBelle &Clewiston and the Glades CHD Moore Haven location as required.
